Green Tea Nice Cream
I have a giant smoothie most days for lunch and yesterday I was playing around with some blackberry nice cream
(frozen bananas, blackberries and vanilla powder) and today I decided that I would depart from my usual smoothie and make a green tea nice cream, incorporating frozen spinach, a good matcha green tea powder and see what my new Vitamix could turn it into. I have to say the results were delicious! Smooth and creamy, no hint of spinach taste, but you did get a nice mellow green tea sweetness that I contrasted with some freshly shelled roasted, salted pistachios. Amazing… try it!
Green Tea Nice Cream (makes one large or two normal servings – my way of saying I ate it all… 🙂
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 1 /2 Cup Frozen Spinach
- 3 Tablespoons Coconut Milk
- 1 Tsp Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 Tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder
- Shelled pistachios for topping
Place all ingredients except the nuts into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. You will likely have to stop the blender and scrape down the sides during the process. Don’t over do or your nice cream will be too runny. If this happens freeze it for awhile. Scoop into a chilled dish, top with nuts and enjoy!
